SEDI Filings
At Ardent, we streamline the process for insiders to comply with SEDI filing deadlines and report transactions with precision.
The System for Electronic Disclosure by Insiders (SEDI) is Canada's on-line, browser-based service for the filing and viewing of insider trading reports as required by various provincial securities rules and regulations. Insider accounts are designed to be used by company insiders, whether it’s an individual or a corporation, including the directors, key shareholders or management. An insider account allows insiders to report on their insider trading activities as required by law.
The reporting of insider trading serves two important investing functions:
It provides transparency and information to the market about the trading activity of directors, senior officers or significant shareholders of reporting issuers.
It deters insider trading on confidential information, since insiders know that they will be required to disclose their trades.
Insider reports contain information about transactions in securities of a reporting issuer for which the insider is required to report. Insider reports are due 5 calendar days after the transaction or 10 calendar days after becoming an insider.
Acting as an agent we are able to complete and file insider reports on the behalf of company insiders. In doing so, we ensure that insider filings of our clients are completed accurately and on time.
